Setup & Onboarding
Welcome to Bokkeh! When you first create an account, you will be guided through a quick 3-step setup process to get your studio ready for clients. This guide also explains the automated email system that runs in the background.
The 3-Step Studio Initializer
Before accessing your dashboard, you must complete the initialization wizard. This ensures your booking page has all the necessary details.
Step 1: Basic Info
Enter your Studio Name. Bokkeh will automatically generate a custom URL slug for your booking page (e.g., bokkeh.app/lens-light). You also need to select your Timezone to ensure all calendar events are scheduled correctly.
Step 2: Studio Details
Provide your public Email and Phone Number. This is how clients will contact you. You can also add a brief Bio/Description to introduce your studio's style and services.
Step 3: Booking Rules
Decide how clients can book you:
- Instant Book: Clients can lock in a date instantly without your confirmation.
- Approval Required: Clients submit a request, and you must manually approve it before it becomes confirmed.
You must also set the Advance Booking (Days) limit, which controls how far into the future someone can reserve a spot.
Automated Email Communications
Bokkeh handles all routine communications to save you time. Once your studio is set up, our system will automatically send beautifully formatted emails to both you and your clients at key moments:
- New Booking Requests: When a client books a slot, you will instantly receive a notification email. The client receives an email confirming their request was received.
- Approvals & Confirmations: If you approve a request, the client receives an email containing their invoice and a link to pay their deposit.
- Payment Verifications: When you verify a manual bank transfer (or a CHIP gateway payment clears), the client receives a digital payment receipt.
- Cancellations: If a booking is rejected or cancelled, the client is gracefully notified via email.
- Final Delivery: When you mark a shoot as "Completed" and attach a Google Drive link, the client receives an email containing a secure link to download their final photos.
Note: These emails are sent automatically by the Bokkeh platform. You do not need to configure SMTP settings or connect an external email provider.
